Meet Fortune

Fortunatus (Fortune) Ekklesiah found his purpose at a young age in life. Since then, he has devoted his life to lifelong learning and creating tools and strategies that help individuals live life on their terms, and businesses achieve better and meaningful results. 3 years later, working as a Speaker & Life Coach, Fortunatus has physically reached over 4000 young people, and many more online, helping them either get started on their journey to unleashing their full potential or supported them in overcoming obstacles in that process.

As a Business Coach & Educator, he has been a consultant to Business Executives with 20+ years of experience, over 150 nonprofit organizations in the country and tens of SMEs, in leadership, business model generation or digital strategy.

His work has earned him recognition, including: an award in the 2016 Tanzania Annual Young Professional Awards; Associate Fellowship of the Royal Commonwealth Society; being selected as one of the youngest participants of the highly competitive YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa initiated by President Obama; the 2017 Global ChangeLeader Award; being selected as a Highly Commended Runner up in the 2016 Queen's Young Leaders Awards initiated by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to recognize youth change-makers across the Commonwealth.

He has also been featured in the "Power of YOUth Book" that tells the inspiring stories of 200 young leaders from 59 countries. Recently, he has been selected for the Brightest Young Minds program in South Africa, that only inducts 100 youth a year that have shown extraordinary achievement individually and in serving the community.

Fortunatus is co-founder of Dar Children's Choir that fosters holistic education and growth of children through professional choral music. He is also a Taskforce member and youth representative in British Council's Next Generation Youth Voices Research.

A committed lifelong learner, Fortunatus enjoys reading books (4-6 a month), taking MOOCs, watching TED Talks, modelling his icons, networking and deeply connecting with various people, as well as his mentees.

Fortunatus lives in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
